Hallgarten Strengthens Its Sales Force With Five New Appointments

Specialist wine importer Hallgarten Druitt & Novum Wines has kicked off 2017 with five new appointments to its sales team. The new recruits signal the company’s long-term commitment to growing its business and further developing partnerships with existing and new customers.

Joe Wadhams has been appointed Regional Business Development Director and will be working across the South of England. Wadhams joins Hallgarten following eight successful years with Enotria; before this he was with Novum Wines where he worked with Hallgarten’s Head Buyer, Steve Daniel, and many of the current Hallgarten suppliers.

Howard Corrigan has joined the National Accounts team as New Business Manager to further reinforce Hallgarten’s commitment to the UK on-trade market. Corrigan previously worked for Vranken-Pommery UK where he was Head of Sales for the on-trade; key account roles at Mentzendorff and Barwell & Jones preceded his time at Vranken-Pommery.

Gerald Chislett, appointed as National Accounts Manager, brings with him a wealth of experience, most recently having run the on-trade division at Freixenet for four and a half years.

Tom Burke has been appointed as a Regional Sales Executive working in the Manchester area. A born and bred Mancunian, Burke joins the company from Laytons and Majestic, where he held sales roles focusing on contract caterers and independent bars.

Steve Gerrard has been appointed as International Sales Director to bolster the burgeoning international side of the Hallgarten business. Gerrard joins the company from Barwell & Jones where he was Managing Director for four years and previously Sales Director. Prior to this, he held lead roles at PLB Group and HwCg as International Sales Director, and Jackson Estate where he was European Sales Manager.

“We are delighted to welcome such passionate and talented individuals to our team of wine sales professionals,” comments Managing Director Andrew Bewes. “They will help deliver our long-term goals and further reinforce our commitment to providing unparalleled levels of service to our customers across all sectors of the trade.”

He continues: “Our customers are rightly demanding ever increasing levels of service, professionalism, partnership and expertise from wine suppliers and these appointments, together with several more planned in London, the South and the North, demonstrate our commitment to our customers.”

These new additions follow Hallgarten’s recent appointment of Robin Knapp to the newly created role of Director of Regional Sales.

The new team members are looking forward to meeting many customers and over 50 of Hallgarten’s wine producers at its Annual Portfolio Tastings in central London on 30th and 31st January.
