Boutinot Brings New Provence Agency To UK

Boutinot has signed Provence producer Château Gairoird to its portfolio, replacing Château Moutête which was sold to Domaine Ott in 2014.

Château Gairoird produces organic wines on its 45 hectare domaine just outside the village of Cuers in the Côtes de Provence AOC.  Current owner OIivier Pierrefeu, is the fourth generation of vignerons at this 18th century Château and has worked with Boutinot’s French wine buyer Sally Holloway on the  2015 Rosé cuvée, which will be available to the UK Off and On-Trade at RRP £11.99.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with Olivier, a quiet and thoughtful winemaker; he has been looking for a partner to help him establish a reputation for his estate wines, which we will bring to the UK for the first time,” explains Holloway.  “He grows numerous Provence cépages including Grenache, Cinsault, Rolle, Syrah and Tibouren on typical Provence terroir - chalky-clay soil dotted with galets - that is perfect for classic Provence rosé.”

Since its inception in 1980, Boutinot has grown to become one of the UK’s leading wine companies, both distributing and producing ranges from around the world.  Its comprehensive ‘Made by Boutinot’ portfolio sits alongside and complements the 100 plus agencies that the company is proud to represent in the UK.
