Ali Is Inaugural Vintners' Benevolent Award Winner

I'm honoured and quite humbled to be the proud recipient of the inaugural Vintners' Benevolent Award.

I've been a member of the Buddies of the Benevolent committee for the last couple of years - and I've never considered the work that I've done for and with them as 'work': I'm just one of a number of proactive team members and, frankly, I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.  From the London Wine Fair Boat Party (and after party….) to our first ever Ceilidh in November 2013, the events are designed to be fun but with the overall aim of raising money for The Benevolent - the Drinks Industry Charity.

You can read more about the Benevolent and the Buddies here (and if you haven't been to one of our events before, you really should!) and I'd like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone concerned for the award on Friday.

Emma and Cordelia in the office tell me there's a real Harry Potter feel to this photo (and you can see how much Hazza P means to us here!) but it was actually taken at the magical surroundings of Vintners' Hall last Friday.

And here's the official 'blurb' about the award:

"The Vintners' Benevolent Award was established by The Vintners' Foundation in 2013 to acknowledge and celebrate a member of the trade, below senior management level, who has actively and passionately worked to support The Benevolent, the drinks industry's charity, and thus supporting the wider drinks industry community.

This year's inaugural Vintners' Benevolent Award Winner was Alison Mann, of Emma Wellings PR, who has consistently proved herself an impassioned and educated advocate for The Benevolent, as well as actively supporting both the planning and execution of Benevolent initiatives and events. The Award was presented at The Vintners' Wine Trade Lunch on 10 January 2014."
